Deciding what to commit to is not as difficult as the act of committing itself. And that commitment is to your Truth—to what simply must be. Anything that is outside of the Truth, anything that is outside of the Self, is destined for failure. It is guesswork. When given the freedom to choose, the only commitments that can be honored are those that stem from an inner knowing. Making commitments through false criteria guarantees unhappiness. For example, committing to a career choice based solely on money, or a spouse who is chosen for societal status. Decisions such as these will inevitably bring misery and suffering to all involved. They are founded on delusion and/or deception, and are therefore insincere. They are lies.

In Awaken the Giant Within, author, Anthony Robbins writes of the power of decisions; “More than anything else, I believe it’s our decisions, not the conditions of our lives, that determine our destiny…My whole life changed in just one day—the day I determined not just what I’d like to have in my life or what I wanted to become, but when I decided who and what I was committed to having and being in my life.” Arriving at such commitments requires making the “right” choices.

Choices based on Truth. It calls for courage, faith and experience. For sacrifice, knowing and compassion. For heightened intuition and passion. And it requires an initial commitment to your own evolution and to your quest for happiness. Those malicious, self-imposed limitations must be recognized and swept away. No one ever said it would be easy. As B.K.S. Iyengar reminds us, the good is not necessarily pleasant. Do not, however, confuse dedicated, hard work, with violent struggle or cause for unhappiness.

Your evolution will insist on changes of your commitments as you grow. This is not to be fought. It is easy to confuse the concept of committing, with that of demanding lifelong obligations. Your commitments themselves are what fuel your evolution to begin with. A commitment at one point in your evolution may not be valid at another point, and to not acknowledge your own development is to lie. Commitments are not necessarily permanent. To declare that you are not going to change, simply because of a commitment that you made, is not honoring your evolution. And evolution is our natural state.

My dream is alive! Inspiring a variety of people through diverse media and methods; through teaching, lecturing, coaching and art. And I truly come to life through my involvement with others who share my visions and help bring them to life. As my commitment to my own evolution brings me deeper into my calling, the nature of my projects becomes more vital. I have opened the door inviting others to walk through, where together we will accomplish wonders! Please visit the rest of the website to learn more.

The Nude Portrait
exploring the relationship between photographer and subject

This special workshop is for experienced photographers—amateur and professional—who want to explore the most intimate side of portraiture…the nude. Learn techniques of both photography and psychology that are needed to boldly express your vision. Students will have the chance to build their portfolios and expand their knowledge of emotionally charged photography.

Rob joins his students in a series of revealing exercises to unleash each photographer’s personal vision while he shows you how to build deep mutual trust and respect between photographer and subject—a vital component if your subject is to expose glimpses of his/her vulnerable nature and ultimate beauty. The inevitable goal of a truly powerful portrait. Students are encouraged and supported to take the risks necessary to communicate honestly and directly with their subjects, building the rapport vital to the creation of such compelling images.

There will be in-depth portfolio reviews, demonstrations and practical time for students to create dramatic, intimate photographs with professional nude models. We will also briefly investigate the history of the nude/intimate portrait with an emphasis on the development of each student’s personal vision.

Please bring a small portfolio of 12-15 samples of your most personal work—portraiture or not, and 10-15 rolls of Kodak BW400CN film or a digital camera and appropriate media. All work will be proofed overnight (lab costs are not included in tuition).

Don’t miss this special event that will transform the way you see and photograph the human body forever!
